{"id":5138,"date":"2022-03-23T15:04:10","date_gmt":"2022-03-23T14:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pharmavalue.it\/?p=5138"},"modified":"2022-03-24T15:24:51","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T14:24:51","slug":"antibiotic-use-in-italy-national-report-year-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pharmavalue.it\/en\/antibiotic-use-in-italy-national-report-year-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"The use of antibiotics in Italy: National Report - Year 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 10 March 2022, the National Report on the use of antibiotics in Italy -2020', concerning antibiotics for human use, was presented on AIFA's YouTube channel to monitor consumption and expenditure trends in Italy and identify areas of potential inappropriate use.<\/p>\n<p>A morning of intense work in which we participated with interest.<br \/>\nWe have produced a summary in graphic format with the highlights that seem to us most relevant to the governance of this type of drug.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the Report shows that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>3 out of 10 citizens received at least one antibiotic prescription in 2020. Utilisation is highest in the paediatric segment and in the over-80s.<\/li>\n<li>In 2020, antibiotics accounted for 1.2% of consumption and 3% of SSN expenditure (692 million) in Italy.
