The Consiglio Superiore di Sanità is made up of thirty appointed members (by the Ministry of Health), also known as non-executive members, in office for three years from the date of the decree of appointment, identified on the basis of their high level of expertise in the disciplines into which Italian public health is divided, and twenty-eight ex officio members.
