At the suggestion of the Insieme contro il Cancro Foundation, the Technical Table formed by oncologists, haematologists and cardiologists was set up to deal with the critical issues faced by patients suffering from these three diseases during the Covid-19 pandemic emergency.
Minister Speranza has already received and accepted their 'Proposal for the management of patients in Oncohaematology, Oncology and Cardiology in phase 2 of Covid-19 infection'.

In the document, in the chapter on the management of cancer patients, it is pointed out that citizens with cancer and heart disease (around 11 million Italians) are fragile and risk having their treatment opportunities compromised due to treatment suspensions or cancellations of surgeries, check-ups and other serious inconveniences.
