The Technical Table on Rare Diseases was established on 21 June 2021.

The Table will bring together clinical and academic experts, institutional representatives and representatives of patients' associations and civil society, who will work together to bring to light the most pressing issues facing rare disease patients and their carers. It will have a multidisciplinary approach and will promote and encourage scientific research to understand the mechanisms underlying rare diseases and to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, also in the light of the new needs arising from the epidemic experience with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
